join our sisterhood
Are you interested in joining one of our Chapters? Below you find a step-by-step guide outlining our process to help you get started!
1. Recruitment
Each September and January, every Tau Sigma Phi chapter hosts a recruitment period—a 3 to 4 week stretch of events designed to welcome potential new members. These events often include craft nights, outdoor BBQs, info sessions, one philanthropy-focused event, along with socials involving other members of the Greek community.
At the end of the recruitment season, each chapter extends a bid—an invitation to pledge—to individuals they believe will thrive in Tau Sigma Phi and contribute meaningfully to the sisterhood.

2. Pledgeship
Following recruitment, individuals who receive a bid to pledge begin a 6 to 8 week period designed to help them get to know the organization, its values, and their potential future sisters. During this time, potential members participate in a range of activities meant to foster connection, build community, and explore what it means to be part of Tau Sigma Phi.
Towards the end of this period, chapters thoughtfully determine which individuals are ready to be formally initiated and fully welcomed into the sisterhood.
3. sister status
Once initiated, potential members become official members and start their journey as an active of Tau Sigma Phi for the remaining years of their undergrad. Active members are responsible for paying yearly dues, attending weekly chapter meetings, and upholding the values of Tau Sigma Phi through consistent involvement. Each month, members are expected to participate in at least one sisterhood, one philanthropy, and one scholarship-focused event—ensuring a well-rounded and meaningful sorority experience.
Through this continued engagement, active members help strengthen the chapter, support one another’s growth, and carry on the legacy of True Sisters Forever.
