Our founding chapter, Alpha, was established in Ottawa in 2007 at Carleton University. As the birthplace of Tau Sigma Phi, Alpha Chapter holds a special place in our history and continues to lead with the spirit of sisterhood that inspired our organization. While it began at Carleton, Alpha has grown to welcome members from across the Ottawa region, including students from the University of Ottawa, Algonquin College, and Collège La Cité. United by shared values and a love for community, Alpha Chapter remains a vibrant and diverse group of women who continue to shape the legacy of our sisterhood.

A message from the president
Hello Everyone!!
My name is Lea, and I am so honoured to be serving as Tau Sigma Phi Alpha Chapter's President for the 2025-2026 year!! I feel so lucky to lead such an incredible group of women who continue to inspire me every day. Growing up as a military child meant moving often and struggling to feel settled or at home. When I joined Tau Sigma Phi in 2023, I found a community that made me feel grounded, supported, and understood. The friendships and sense of belonging I’ve found here have made Ottawa feel like home, not just where I live. That’s why I’m so passionate about creating that same experience for others.
As we begin the 2025/26 academic year, our chapter is proud to continue growing through our core pillars: sisterhood, scholarship, and philanthropy. We strive to support one another academically through study sessions, mentorship, and workshops, while also making a meaningful impact beyond our chapter. Each year, we proudly participate in Run for the Cure for breast cancer, fundraising together for a cause that matters deeply to us. What makes our chapter special is how naturally these values show up in both our events and our everyday support for one another. We’re excited for another year of growth, service, and unforgettable memories. Thank you all for your support and commitment. Together, we’ll make this year one full of growth, friendship, and shared achievements. Here’s to another great year ahead!!
