Our
Story

Over 15 years ago, five extraordinary women—Kristin Dafoe, Natasha Hjort, Sarah Jones, Sara Korajian, and Halley Van Muyen—came together at Carleton University with a shared belief in a sisterhood built on strength, connection, and purpose. On September 9, 2007, they officially established Tau Sigma Phi, creating a space where women could uplift one another and grow through shared values.

What began in Ottawa, Ontario has since grown into Canada’s only national sorority, with chapters across the country and a network of 400+ members. Our letters stand for True Sisters Forever, a motto that reflects our commitment to lifelong friendship and support.

Founded on the pillars of sisterhood, philanthropy, and scholarship—and guided by the values of loyalty, integrity, and compassion—Tau Sigma Phi is more than just a sorority. It’s a home, a legacy, and a lifelong bond.
